Well I'm excited that Fall is here! The pumpkins, the cinnamon, the crisp air, the apples, the leaves, okay you get the point ;-). I really like fall... Summer use to always be my favorite however recently fall is getting closer and closer to being my favorite!Also with the fall comes Katrina's Fall Into Reading challenge. It's an amazing simple reading challenge. No real pressure, just pick some books and read. Write a review if you feel like it.
So what am I reading this fall? I will tell you!
Here are two books I need to finish up. I have been reading them for a while and need to finish them up!
The New Dare to Discipline by James Dobson- I am reading this one for obvious reasons, I have no idea how to teach Sammy the right behavior. I want to learn now how to do it and nip some of these "terrible twos" in the bud before they become permanent behaviors.- Just Do It by Douglas Brown - Read the review of this book on 5 Minutes for Books and it sounded interesting. My husband and I are reading this book together.
- The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger - I want to see this movie so I need to read the book first :-)
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho - I have had this book for a while and it always sounds so good but it keeps getting put off until later. This fall I will read it!!
- Finger Lickin' Fifteen by Janet Evanovich - just got this from paperbackswap and can't wait to read the latest about Stephanie Plum!
- The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown - Tim and I pre-ordered this one and we are both ready to read it.
- Big Fish by Daniel Wallace - My sister was getting rid of some books and this one sounded like a really fun read. Thanks Clare!
- Girls in Peril by Karen Lee Boren - Again I got this book a while ago and pushed it to the back of the shelf.. so now is the time to read it!
- Atonement by Ian McEwan - another book that I want to see the movie and I have heard really great things about.
- Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult - I love Jodi Picoult and can't wait to read another one of her amazing stories!
- Discovering the Treasures of a Godly Woman: Proverbs 31 by Elizabeth George - this book is for my Mom's bible study through church.
- Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis - This book is through a book club that Tim and I are in with some good friends. I have never read this book so I can't wait to dig in. I just hope I can understand it ;-)
- Continuing to read through the bible in a year - (fell behind.. trying to catch back up)

Time Traveler's Wife and The Alchemist are both sitting on my shelf. I will be interested in what you think about them. I hate to tell you, I did not care for Atonement. Hope you like it better than I did! Good luck with the challenge.

Looks like a great list, Lindsay! I've been curious about The Alchemist, too. And I'll probably read The Lost Symbol eventually. Though I often don't agree w/ Brown philosophically or politically, he does keep me turning pages!

I think I'd better get a notepad here and start writing down all these books that are tempting me from others lists! I'll have some good suggestions for Christmas gifts for me! and then I'll run some through the library ladies I know! I've read some Picoult and my mom is into her, so I could probably pick up a few there...wow, I think I need an extra hour a day of reading... wouldn't that be AWESOME to have a time that you could only do that!?!?!Perhaps I should work toward it!!
I ahve Lost Symbol on my list too. I read Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis for the first time during Spring Reading Thing - it was an amazing book, you'll enjoy it.
I just finished Lost Symbol today. Very good and look forward to hearing what you think about it. I've also read The Alchemist - good too in a different way.

i highly recommend time traveler's wife. AWESOME book! like so awesome i might re-read even though i just finished it a month ago.
atonement. another awesome read. the book is 500x better than the movie. definitely read the book first.
just finished the lost symbol last night at 1am. typical dan brown thriller/suspense/lots of plot twists. if you enjoyed davinci code and angels & demons (which i did!!), you will really enjoy it. i didn't realize when i picked it up that it all takes place in dc. that aspect makes it really fun for people like us who grew up there. :)
I love having time to get lost in a book. I haven't had that time in sooo long. I miss it!! Happy Fall and reading!
I read The Time Traveler's Wife for my bookclub and then we went to see the movie together. We had great discussion afterwards.
I really liked the Time Traveler's Wife, but have not seen the movie.
I am so anxious to read The Lost Symbol...it is third in line!!!!
I like your list. I have The time travelers wife on my list too. I think I'm like you, I have to read the book first before I see the movie. I didn't know there was a book for Atonement. I will have to check that out.

I am finishing up another autobiography (7th one this year!) and then I plan on tackling The Time Traveler's Wife. Maybe we will be reading it at the same time- I'll be anxious to hear what you think of it!
