Jack-o-Lanterns

A few nights ago we got down to business and carved our pumpkins. Sammy thought this was really fun.

He helped scoop with the spoon and wouldn't use his hand at first.

Then he got down to business and started getting his hands dirty:

Sammy picked out the design he wanted on his pumpkin:
Tim and I still have to carve the faces into our pumpkins hopefully we will get a chance to do that soon :-)

Sammy also got to make a paper Jack-o-Lantern. I cut out a bunch of shapes and put some glue on the pumpkin and let him pick out the eyes, nose, and mouth:

Placing his shapes on the pumpkin:

The finished product:

It's quite funny ~ my boys beg me each year that they want to carve the pumpkin, but when they see/smell/look inside the pumpkin they always cahnge their minds!

Yours has turned out great and Sammy is a good wee helper.

Love,
Amanda x
